Our Fishing Guide Service

Bosstriper began with Bas (pronounced Boss) Vaandrager a Dutch immigrant that had a passion of fishing that was kindled by his father Johan Vaandrager who loved nothing more than sitting on the bank and fishing the day away. Bas loves catching fish and seeing others get hooked up on fish for the first time. With that drive in mind he began this Guide Service in 1995 to help others catch that same feeling he had. Bas is also joined by is son Graham, who has deck-handed throughout his youth and is now guiding alongside him.

Lake Buchanan has long been known as a great fishery for Stripers, White Bass, and Catfish. Stripers and Hybrids are stocked yearly and the White Bass have a natural spawn each year. This ensures that the lake has a stable population of game fish for us to chase.

Our Fishing Techniques For Lake Buchanan, Texas

Live Bait

Using Carolina Rigs and live shad we will target Stripers and Hybrids with multiple rods.

Vertical Jigging

Using Jigging Spoons we will target White Bass, Stripers, and Hybrids. Each fisherman will have a rod to jig with.

Down-Rigging

We will throw out 4 trolling lures, this will allow us to cover a lot of water to locate schools of Stripers and Hybrids.
